ihave got 10 beautiful occasion wear dresses to show you from river island i filmed a similar video a few weeks back from asos and i had lots of requests for more occasion wear and so i have teamed up with river island to show you 10 of my favorite occasion wear dresses to hopefully give you guys a little bit of inspiration for any upcoming summer events you may as usual all of the dresses will be linked below in the description box along with any other items start up throughout and i will also pop my size next to each dress if I forget to mention and just the size comparison i am five foot six i'm about a uk size 8. but yeah let's get going with the first dress okay so first up is this gorgeous pink floral midi dress i feel like this would make the perfect summer wedding guest dress it is just beautiful like the fabric is stunning. i love all the tones of the pinks and the purples um it is double layered it's got like a light weight it's got quite a lightweight chiffon fabric on top and then underneath is like a little bit of a slick dress but it's in the same print which I think makes it feel really; nice quality and the sleeves are the same as well they're double layered so it's got a looser chiffon layer and then underneath the same fabric as well um yeah it just feels really lovely quality the cut of it is lovely it's got an elasticated waist so it cinches you in slightly but still feels really comfortable at the same time like i feel like i could sit in this all day i could dance in it um plenty of room around the tummy for eating i love the shape of the sleeves i feel like it's a really flattering um flattering shape which suit a lot of body types and it just kind of falls really nicely and it's nice that it's not too low at the front it's a deep v but not too low um but you could you can also open up slightly if you want it a bit; lower or you can kind of pull it over and have a little bit have it sit a little bit higher if you prefer um yeah an absolutely beautiful dress and a really good one to start with i feel like this is going to take a lot of beating; next up is this gorgeous coral satin midi dress and I'm wearing this in a size uk 8 and i would say it's very true to size it fits me perfectly like it skims it kind of dips in slightly on the waist and then kicks back out over the hips and the cut of it is really lovely um lengthwise it's the perfect length on me and i like the fact that it just kicks out slightly um at the bottom either side as well and then obviously it's got the slit up the front and i think the color is absolutely beautiful for a summer event i think it's such a pretty color and it would also look really lovely with a style with maybe a white or cream blazer over the top as well um and maybe like a kind of peachy coral lipstick the The straps are adjustable as well which is great and this s ection from about here oh no from about here upwards this is double layered as well so if you were to wear it without a bra you've got a little bit more thickness of the fabric to cover up um but yeah absolutely beautiful dress i like this one a lot okay this next dress is exactly the same as the previous one but this time it is in this beautiful kind of abstract print and i would never have thought that all of these colors would work together because it's kind of like coral and turquoise and orange and brown and black but i feel like the print and the colors work beautifully um and yeah i just think it's absolutely stunning i'm wearing it again in the same size as before uk eight and it fits me really well the only thing iwould say is there's quite a bit of room around like the chest area and i'm a 32b um but like i said it is adjustable so you could pull it up slightly to make it a little bit tighter um but yeah again skims the figure really nicely it's just a very flatteri fit just a beautiful slip dress oh and it also comes in navy blue as well which is stunning okay this next dress is a slightly more casual style to the previous ones and i feel like you could dress this up or down so you could wear it with sandals um during the day to make like a garden party but then you could also wear of heels as occasion wear um i have just tied it's got like a little string around the waist which i've just tied at the front but i also will show you in the try on clips that you can also kind of pull it backwards and tie it at the back as well if you prefer to keep it a little bit more a little bit more plain at the front um the fabric is really lovely super lightweight slightly sort of silky feel to it and it's also got a kind of slightly um crinkled texture to the fabric as well and i like the muted tones of the floral print on the sort of a creamy background it has got elasticated cuffs so you can adjust .it slightly if you like um and yeah buttons all down the front obviously so yeah very pretty it's not i wouldn't say it's one of my favorite out of all of them but i do think it's a really pretty dress okay this next one isn't actually a dress it is a top and skirt cord and? if you follow me on instagram you may have seen that i actually posted this exact set in the plain white which is gorgeous i'll pop a picture of it up i absolutely love it and then when i was looking at different sets to feature . what different dresses to feature for this video i spotted that it also came in this beautiful like bright floral print which i thought would be perfect as occasion wear so as you can see you probably tell different from the picture i inserted and how i've got it on now it is completely elasticated around the top so you can wear it you can wear the top up like this or you can also just pull it off your shoulders if you prefer like that I think personally as occasional wear it works quite well up high um but then i think if i was to wear i thi nk it also looks gorgeous just styled really simply during the day with sandals and then off the shoulders for more like a barbecue or a garden party um but i think it looks gorgeous both ways it is completely back well i say completely back because it's got like a um lace-up detail at the back so you wouldn't be able to wear a bra with it um and to be honest it sits like i will show you in the cutaway clips a little bit better it doesn't sit amazingly off the shoulders like you can tell that it is it is designed to be to be worn up but i think that i still think it works both ways i love the little puff sleeves again i'm wearing both the top and the skirt in a size uk . and it's very true to size it fits me perfectly it has got an elasticated waist and like i said before i'm five foot six and i've got it on now of heels and although it's kind of like a little bit off the floor. i think it still kind of works this length with heels and obviously with flats as well next up is this beauti ful lilac strapless midi dress and i know i've said this about quite a few of them but this color is just stunning and such a beautiful spring summer color i'm wearing this in a size uk six i sized down to a six because the The fabric is quite stretchy and I wanted it to be quite figure hugging and it fits me perfectly in the six there's plenty of room around the chest area in fact this is bone so it's got a really nice shape um but yeah plenty of room here fits me really nice around the waist it doesn't feel like it doesn't feel too tight i still feel like i could sit down on this and eat in it and i would still be super comfortable um i think the shape of it is gorgeous how i love how fitted it is but it's got this um folded material that makes it a little bit more flattering so it's not just one piece of tight material it's kind of yeah it's got lots of gatherings that make it really flattering on the waist and the hips um but obviously it's very fitter hugging so if that's not our thing then this probably this probably won't be for you and i've just clipped my hair up at the back just to just to change the looks up a little bit um but i think because this is such a plain simple design .it would work really well with a big flower or a fascinator in your hair to to dress up a little bit more um oh and it also also come in black as well which i think would be perfect as evening occasion wear so i will also leave the black one. linked in the description box as well okay next up is this cute little rust floral mini dress and i know they've all been midi dresses so far that's that's what i tend to go for for occasion wear um but i feel like a good mini dress.i can also work perfectly as occasional as long as it's not too short and this is the perfect length on me it's just a really great length without being too short um the style of it is so cute i love these big floaty sleeves it almost gives it lik. a little bit of a 70s vibe to it and then it's got this tie detai .in the middle so um i did just check on the website to make sure i was tying it right so you literally get too long bits of fabric that you just tie in a knot in the middle um but if you wanted to you could tie it you could because .i did try and you can wrap it over and tie it at the back instead if you don't want that detail at the front um but I just think the style of it's really lovely it also comes in navy blue as well like a navy blue kind of i'm not sure if it's a floral print or not i'll pop a picture of the navy one up as well um but yeah i thought that was gorgeous too um again like some of the other ones this is the sort of dress that you could dress up or dress down so if you started with heels it would be perfect as occasion wear but I also think it'd be really cute during the day with sandals and a basket bag and it feels lovely and lovely and light and flowy by the way sorry about the lighting in here all of a sudden the sunlight has started streaming in and so i'm kind of like edging closer to the camera uh but yeah really lovely dress next up is this beautiful silver maxi dress and again this is just stunning i feel like this could even work as um like bridesmaid dresses depending on like the vibe of your wedding i feel like it could kind of work but the fabric is just beautiful it's got a um floral print on it in a slightly shimmery fabric but it just looks so pretty the way it catches the light i have still got my gold jewelry on because these are just like my everyday pieces i think it kind of works but it would probably work better with silver jewelery just because it's quite a cool toned silver dress um and at the back it does cross over and the straps are adjustable which is great again you can you can adjust .ilove the fact that it's got a slit up the front and again i'm wearing this in a uk eight and it fits me perfectly it just skims the figure really nicely there's a little bit of room so it still feels comfortable but it's a very flatt ering shape um yeah just beautiful okay just got two more dresses left to show you and next up is this beautiful bright pink midi dress and i feel like this is a similar ish style to the first one in the fact that it's got a lightweight chiffon fabric top and then underneath it's got the same sort of slip dress in the same fabric um so again really lovely quality like the attention to detail is there it's got these little ties with the beaded detail like little tassels with the beaded top it just feels really nice quality um i love the print on it is it kind of like an animal print it's like a pink animal print is it i think so um but yeah gorgeous print gorgeous color um the only thing i would say is that it is quite a loose which will suit some of you perfectly but i think others may prefer to be able to cinch it in slightly um so i would say maybe style it with a tan belt or you could just get a bit of and pop it there and then of pucker it over so it ds that in and pulls the waist in a little bit more um but i do quite like how it looks quite free and flowy and again feels super comfortable oh and the sleeves are elasticated as well so you can just pull them up and wear it a bit more like that if you prefer to um yeah really lovely dress and then last but not least is this blue ruffle mini dress and again this is a really great length for a mini dress it finishes just about an inch or two above my knees at the front and then it dips down a little bit lower at the back so a really appropriate length for a for a mini dress um if you follow me on instagram you may have seen that i've actually styled up the white version of this for a reels i with river island um and it's beautiful in the white absolutely gorgeous i'll pop a little picture in actually um but i thought for occasion where i thought this this kind of was a bit more a bit more special um so it's got a beautiful florai print and then i didn't actually notice this from ; he images online it's got this tiny little silver flecks on it um but i love all the like kind of ruffle details of the sleeves and down the front and it has got a white slip dress underneath it so it's quite a sheer shift on layer on top and then a white slip dress underneath which has got adjustable straps as well and then just to finish off it's got this tie detail around the neck which i've just left loose because i quite like the way it sits there um but you could also tie it up and pop it in like a bow on one side if you prefer the detail around your neck yeah really cute quite girly dress so i don't think that this will be for everyone um but it's also really really lovely in the white so i will pop the white one in the description box as well um and again i'm wearing this one in a size uk six and i would say it runs quite large so if in doubt size down okay so that is all
